Black Leggings You Can Wear In Public
When I was younger walking around in a pair of Lululemon's seemed completely natural. But now, unless I'm working out (HA!), you won't 'cashhh me ousssidee' in a pair of Lulu's. And honestly, at this point, I had somewhat given up on finding a pair of true black leggings. But then, I was introduced to the Ponte de Roma leggings by Svelte Shapewear.
Montreal-based clothing line Svelte offers a variety of shapewear leggings, tank tops, shorts and skirts. Their designs are stylish, wearable and feature elements of shapewear, ready-to-wear, and fitness, all at once. And, each piece is equipped with their signature, built-in waist panel to help accentuate your silhouette. I don't know about you, but that's something I'm desperate for come that time of the month.
With so many leggings with shapewear built in available from Svelte, it was difficult to choose one single style. But finally, I went with the Ponte de Roma Tight Ankle Legging because they are a true classic.
These simple black leggings feature a double-knit fabric with great elasticity, making them extremely comfortable to wear. And Svelte’s signature tummy tucking panel shapes itself to your body so you avoid the dreaded muffin top. Plus, the fabric features a slight shimmer, which instantly dresses them up in comparison to the cotton version.
With sizing ranging from size S to 2XL there is an option for most, but I would suggest going up a size as these fit slightly small. However, with that said, I have noticed they have begun to stretch out ever so slightly after a month of wear. And while they always remained comfortable, they just now feel as though they fit true to size. And maybe that's the Ponte? Get it! Ha ha.
They've been a go to since I got my hand on them! I honestly can't seem to remember a weekend in the past month that I've gone without wearing them, even just to run an errand. And now that I find myself in an office work environment for my internship, they have truly become a staple in my weekday wardrobe. Simply pair them with a long blouse and jacket, and they are instantly stylish enough for the office. And beyond – drinks anyone?!
