Kérastase Aura Botanica
To say that I love Kérastase products would be an understatement. Realistically, I'm obsessed. Whether it's their iconic Elixir Ultime or one of their deeply conditioning masks, I've yet to find a brand that does luxury haircare quite as well. And now, Kérasatase is entering the realm of responsible haircare with their latest release, Aura Botanica.
Aura Botanica
'The Aura Botanica range fulfils a growing desire for responsible luxury. Offering truly effective care to enhance natural, lightly devitalized hair to leave it with a healthy glow. Elevating the sensorial, it introduces the sublime sensation of “nude” hair, uncoated and free of residues. Resplendent, glowing hair, reawakened to its natural beauty.'
The Aura Botanica range is a beautiful collection of coconut and argan oil-based products, including a shampoo, conditioner, oil mist, and oil concentrate. Each one of these Kérastase products is formulated with an average of 98% natural origin ingredients, and keeping true with the responsible nature of this line, Aura Botanica promises that:
- all active ingredients are sourced from a responsible purchasing program.
- formulas are on average 97% biodegradable.
- all products are formulated without Silicones, Sulfates, and/or Parabens.
- active ingredients deliver 48 hours of durable nutrition, 72 hours of anti-frizz control and 4 times more shine.
My At-Home Aura Botanica Ritual
At this point, the Aura Botanica collection has taken over much of my hair care routine. Not only does it make my hair feel insanely smooth without stripping the colour, it also features a masculine yet romantic scent that is right up my alley.
Although I don't wash my hair all that often when I do I've been using the Shampoo Bain Micellaire. Despite being made of 96% natural ingredients (coconut and sugar to be exact), this shampoo creates a luxuriously rich lather that delivers supremely clean hair, without the dry feel/touch. The formula is designed to prep the hair to be conditioned, so I quickly follow with the Conditioner Soin Fondamental. The texture of this conditioner is interesting, as it's richer than a typical conditioner but lighter than one of their deep conditioning masques. Despite its thickness, the conditioner melts into the hair, leaving it nourished, smooth and shiny.
Once out of the shower I spritz the Oil Essence D'Eclat all over my hair before combing through with a wide-toothed comb. The Oil Essence D'Eclat is a 99% natural origin lightweight ultra-fine bi-phase mist. One oil phase contains a unique combination of coconut, argan, jojoba and avocado oil, while the aqueous phase contains Damascus Rose floral water. Regardless of whether I blow-dry my hair or not, this bi-phase mist leaves my hair frizz-free and ultra smooth.
But let's be serious, my hair has been through hell and back. So, I also like to add a pump of the Oil Concentrate Essentiel to the ends. This multi-use 99% natural oil blend nourishes and boosts shine thanks to its formula of Samoan coconut oil, Moroccan argan oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, sweet orange oil and rosemary extract. I've become so obsessed with this oil concentrate that I also tend to add a pump to the ends of my hair after I blowdry it as well.
The Kérastase Aura Botanica range has truly improved the quality of my hair over the past month, and I'm truly smitten with it's masculine yet romantic scent. I definitely recommend it for anyone who has a few extra $$ to spend on their haircare regime.
