HAIR DIARIES PT I. FEELIN' BLUE

For whatever reason, as of late I've grown tired of my pastel locks. So, during my latest visit with the incredibly talented Nikki Kennedy of Good Day Hair Shop, I decided to shake things up with a bright blue ombre. I typically head into Good Day without a hair colour in mind, but this time I not only had a colour picked out, I had an entire hairstyle I wanted to work towards! I've been playing around with the idea of going for a longer style; think collar bone length, choppy bangs, shadowed roots, and of course a colourful ombre. I talked the vision through with Nikki and we both decided that I should go for it , not only for the look, but also to give my locks a rest from bleaching.

To begin the process I wanted to cool things down with a blue tone because I'm obsessed with how the colour fades as I wash it, and feel it pairs best with grown out roots. Nikki, as always, concocted the perfect blue shade that we decided resembles dirty denim - although it looks a bit more purple in the above photos than it does in real life. She concentrated the toner at the roots, pulling it down through the ends to give my hair dimension and a slight ombre. I'm obsessed with the results, and honestly surprised I can pull off such a bold colour.
