My Footwear Rotation For Spring
Shoe lovers, rejoice – it's the first day of Spring, AKA ankle season! And while it might not look like Spring outside thanks to the snowfall we experienced last week, I can feel it in my bones. The nights are getting longer, the breeze fresher, and I finally have a pep in my step again. But personally, I'll only truly deem it Spring when I feel comfortable wearing a light jacket, t-shirt, jeans and bare ankles. Or more likely, fishnetted ankles, as that's been all the rage as of late.
I'm eagerly anticipating the moment I can bare my ankles 24/7, which has only led to me frantically sourcing new styles to wear come warm weather. One of my favourite places to shop when I'm on a budget but want it all is Dixie Outlet Mall. Hands down they are one of the best malls in the GTA for finding a killer pair of new shoes. With some of the best shoe stores around, including Aldo, Journey's, and Foot Locker, I find often find items that are 70% off or more!
Must-Have Shoe Styles For Spring
This Spring I'm all about cool girl style with an edge. So, I've sourced three pairs of shoes from Dixie Outlet Mall, which I consider my must-haves for Spring 2017. The footwear I'll have on rotation this Spring include a dope pair of sneakers, leather ankle booties with a Western flare, and black pumps with a hint of perspex. Now, the only thing left to do is shave my ankles in preparation for their big reveal!
Perspex Heels
You might remember that I shared these heels back in December when I shopped Dixie Outlet Mall for a holiday party outfit. The full post can be seen here. Well, they're still available at Spring shoes, and still a total MUST!
I love this black pump because although it's classic enough for the office, it still gives off an edgy vibe thanks to its unique cut and perspex detail. And in case you've been living under a rock, Perspex, or the see-through plastic detail, is a huge trend for Spring and Summer footwear this year.
Monochromatic Sneakers
Another trend that's going strong is the athleisure movement. And while, I'm not prepared to start leaving the house in sweats, body-suits and the like, I am down to dabble in the sneaker game. I found this dope pair of New Balance 574's at the Foot Locker in DOM and instantly fell in love. While I already have two pairs of Nike's, both are white and therefore not the most weather-friendly. So, these New Balance kicks are a welcome addition to my collection. I love that they fit my monochromatic style, but also have a subtle hint of glitz to bring a fresh vibe to my wardrobe. And I've still been seeing them online at full-price. But thanks to Dixie Outlet Mall, I snagged them for 35% OFF!
A True Ankle Bootie
Finally, after years of having leather booties that hit just above the ankle, I've found a pair that sit just below!! A huge win in my perspective.
I've long known that the Aldo Shoes in Dixie Outlet Mall was a haven for leather shoes at a deal but still wasn't expecting to find these bad boys. This western-inspired bootie is made of real leather and features a subtle heel making them totally wearable for work and beyond.
Truth be told, I can already tell that I'm going to have a hard time taking these out of my rotation for summer. I mean, just think of how cute will they look with a white summer frock!?
