SHISEIDO / SYNCHRO SKIN LASTING LIQUID FOUNDATION

One thing to note about the complexion-obsessed is that we're never not in the market for a new foundation. Even when we think we've found the holy grail, be-all and end-all, flexin' my complexion to the max foundation, we will still jump at the chance to test the latest one to hit the shelves. The latest release taking the world by storm? The Shiseido Synchro Skin Foundation ($58).

The Shiseido Synchro Skin Foundation is an oil-free, long-lasting foundation, which provides medium, buildable coverage and a matte finish. It's formulated with Advanced Sensing Technology, which allows for dynamic synchronization with your skin’s condition, whether it be dry, oily, or combination, virtually becoming one with the skin. The foundation is also loaded with active ingredients, such as Mother of Thyme extract, and St. John's Wort extract, which combat undesirable skin conditions through the prevention of skin damage caused by oxidation, and skin roughness, respectively.

A single pump of the Shiseido Synchro Skin Foundation is more than enough to cover the entire face; although on evenings when I'm headed out I'll apply two pumps for full coverage, as it is quite buildable. The texture is incredibly silky and lightweight, somewhat reminiscent of the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($68), making it practically unnoticeable on the skin, even on nights in which I add an extra pump. This silky texture also means the foundation easily blends into the skin with a beauty blender, foundation brush, or simply with fingers, and truly does leave your complexion looking naturally flawless. The foundation remains matte on my skin for 6 hours before I need to re-powder, but that said I have normal/dry skin, and those with oily skin seem to require a touch-up sooner.
