NAILS . BEST IN BLACK
I've spoken of the Essence The Gel Polish ($2.99) before – their inexpensive price point, variety of pigmented shades, and extensive wear-time has me hooked. Although lately I've been disregarding their colour selection, opting for a minimalist approach with the brands black, grey, and white polishes. Here I've used all three to create an abstract manicure without the use of any tools – nail art level: can't paint my nails without painting the cuticles too, lol.
To re-create this design begin with a single coat of the Essence The Gel Nail Polish Base Coat, then apply two thin coats of Essence's The Gel Nail Polish in Black Is Black. Essence uses Colour Crush Technology, which ensures the polish always delivers high-intensity colour – a statement I back given that this is the most pigmented black polish I own. Once dry, I applied the shade Rock My World, followed by Wild White Ways, removing as much polish from the brush as possible before dabbing a minimal amount on the nail at random. To seal in the design and extend the wear time I finished the manicure with a thick coat of Essence's The Gel Nail Polish Top Coat.
