OPI INFINITE SHINE / ICONIC SHADES

Certain nail polishes are truly iconic. Whether it be their versatility or boldness, there is something about that shade specifically that enables it to stand above the rest. One brand that is exceptionally gifted when it comes to the development and creation of these iconic shades is OPI. With over three decades in the industry, they've created an overwhelming number of polishes that are universally known and owned, including the polish that took my OPI virginity, Lincoln Park After Dark

This Fall, OPI has decided to honor these iconic shades by re-releasing them as part of the brand's next generation long-wear lacquer line, Infinite Shine. Teaming up with Pyper America Smith as the creative ambassador of this growing collection, OPI has released 30 of what they consider their most iconic shades now formulated with the Infinite Shine formula. Available for $16.95 CAN at major beauty salons and OPI, this collection is one you won't want to miss!

I've been a fan of the Infinite Shine formula since it's launch back in 2014. Use of their three-step system, which includes Primer, Gel Nail Lacquer, and Gloss, truly extends the wear-time of nail polish and provides infinite shine. Within the past two years, OPI has grown their Infinite Shine collection to an impressive 90 shades, which now also include these 30 iconic shades:

  • Alpine Snow
  • An Affair in Red Square
  • Big Apple Red
  • Black Onyx
  • Bubble Bath
  • Cajun Shrimp
  • Cha-Ching Cherry
  • CIA = Color is Awesome
  • Dulce de Leche
  • Dutch Tulips

  • I’m Not Really a Waitress
  • It’s a Girl!

Of the iconic shades released as part of this collection, I received a total of 10 to swatch, review, and share. Amongst them were a few long-time favourites, including Lincoln Park After Dark and You Don't Know Jacques!, and some brights that I personally wouldn't automatically reach for. The shades include:

  • Funny Bunny – described as 'a soft white that's irresistibly sweet.'
  • Bubble Bath – described as 'a sweet candy pink.'
  • Dulce de Leche – described as 'a taste of sweet creamy nude.'
  • You Don't Know Jacques! – described as a 'trendy taupe.'
  • Lincoln Park After Dark – described as 'where midnight meets purple.'
  • Strawberry Margarita – described as 'a bright pink.'
  • Cajun Shrimp – described as 'a spicy shade of coral.'
