Back 2 School
Having recently completed postgraduate studies in Digital Media Marketing at George Brown College, while working, blogging and side hustling, I feel like I can appropriately consider myself a survivalist. Especially, when you consider I had graduated from University 5 years prior. Although I've always considered myself an organized individual, I was completely unprepared for what College had to bring. But with determination and a few key supplies from Amazon, I not only graduated but was able to secure a position with the PR/Digital Agency of my dreams, 1 Milk 2 Sugars Inc.
So today, I'm sharing how you too can prepare for a new school year (or a new job) and stay organized with a few products that I consider essential for back to school.
How-To: Stay Organized at School and Work
1. Plan, Plan, and Plan Some More
Whether you fancy a Planner, Bullet Journal or simply enjoy using iCalendar, maintaining a schedule, to-do list and calendar of dates greatly increases your likelihood of success. I've found that due to the intensity of my schedule and the cathartic aspects of calligraphy and doodling lends well to a Bullet Journal. These journals essentially offer blank pages, which feature a dot grid that can be customized to include everything from a mood-tracker to inspirational quotes.
I recently upped my bullet journal game with a chic new Matrix Notebook in black, of course, and a collection of Staedtler Markers. I'm definitely going to be sharing my bullet journal ideas and designs in an upcoming post, but for now, you can find TONS of inspiration from my girl Amanda Rach Lee, on her Instagram @AmandaRachDoodles!
2. Don't Procrastinate
Another friend of mine has the saying 'Now's The Time' tattooed on his palm, and it's something that's always stuck with me. And although it's inked on his skin, the thought alone acts as a daily reminder to get shit done, for lack of a better term. Being able to harness this notion and use it as a means to motivate myself has been essential to my growth, both in my career and as a person.
3. Expect The Unexpected
Finally, in every aspect of my life, I've found it's always best to prepare for the unexpected. This can range from packing your favourite red lipstick for a chance date/evening out to packing an umbrella in case of rain. Anything can happen people! But regardless of whether it's my FujiFilm Instax 8 Mini Instant Camera or Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, I know my Amazon Basics Backpack has more than enough room to fit all my non-essentials. And I can't get enough of the white and black design–so chic!
