SEPHORA PICKS / 001

OMR-Beauty1

Every so often I get the urge to do a massive haul from Sephora. This urge typically presents itself around the VIB sale, however after perusing the new arrivals/best sellers the other day I began feeling desperate to spice up my current makeup collection.

Topping my list are a few brow products, as I recently ran out of my most coveted brow enhancer, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade($23), and am in desperate need of a replacement. I love this pomade because it creates a striking, defined arch in seconds, however with the current trend being a more 'natural' brow I've been on the search for a pencil to mimic brow hairs. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz($24) seems to be the perfect answer, and is a product I've wanted to try for a few months now. It offers more precision than the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade and therefore will come in handy to create a natural effect at the head of the brow using upward strokes. I've also been after a new clear brow gel as I'm falling out of love with the tinted versions that have currently found a home in my stash. The brand new Benefit Ready, Set, Brow! 24-Hr Setting Gel($30) has been the talk of the town, which means it must have some serious hold! I can't wait to snag one and put it to the test.

I also noticed that there are a ton of new foundations launching for Fall '16. Topping my 'must-try list' are the new Make Up For Ever Water Blend Face & Body Foundation($54) and Urban Decay All Night Foundation($49). I've long loved the original Face & Body, but the new formula sounds like a serious upgrade. Formulated with 80% water, this foundation would have undoubtedly been my HG foundation during our recent heat wave. And for a fuller coverage there's the Urban Decay All Night Foundation($49), which to be honest hooked me in by it's packaging, but also reminded me of my former love for the Naked Skin Foundation. The All Night Foundation is said to provide full coverage with a modern matte finish, that lasts all night long – here's hoping.

Finally in the makeup department, I've got my eye on a few colour products, including the new NARS Hardwired Eyeshadow($31), a line of 5 striking metallic shadows, and a few shades from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks($26). Although I would glady own all shades from both products, I've got a special place in my heart for the eyeshadow in: Stud, Parallax, and Pygar, and the liquid lipsticks in shades Pure Hollywood, Sepia, and Potion.

When it comes to skincare I've been fairly happy with my current routine – a mix of L'Occitane, Ole Henriksen, and Kunye – however I love the idea of adding the Dr. Jart Water Drop Moisturizer($45) to finish off the summer and prep my skin for fall/winter. The formula is extremely lightweight and features a special emulsion system with droplets packed full of brightening and nourishing ingredients. It's supposed to provide instant hydration, and in turn brightens dull, lackluster skin. Sounds ideal, sign me up.
