SUMMER'S OVER INTERLUDE
With September well on its way, we enter the dreaded transition from summer to fall. It's not that I hate this transition, to be honest, I'm more excited for fall styling than anything, but I find this time of year ever so difficult to dress as the weather fluctuates rapidly making it nearly impossible to plan an outfit for the day. I find myself hesitant to pack away my summer items, yet eager to throw on my fall favourites. So instead I've gone ahead and combined them.
You may remember a few weeks ago I posted about my recent obsession with rose-inspired products in a wish-list, called Coming Up Roses. Well, I've finally got my hands on a pair of rose-embroidered shorts and you bet I'll be damned if fall rolls around without getting some use out of them. The shorts hail from the latest fast-fashion retailer I've been introduced to, DressFo, who sent them alongside a few other pieces I'll be styling over the coming weeks. I was rather impressed with the quality of all the pieces, well, aside from the fact that I had to use a seam ripper to create an opening for the button on these shorts in order to fasten them. But aside from that, I'm in love, they are everything I'd want from a rose-embroidered short and retail for $23 USD with free shipping – plus, use code:FALL for 12% off your purchase.
I've styled them with a few transitional items, including a bell-sleeved blouse and my current favourite shoes, my Aldo lace-up mules. Then threw on a sleeveless suede waistcoat and a wool hat to give the outfit an element of fall fashion.
