MAKE UP FOR EVER / AQUA XL EYE PENCIL COLLECTION
I'm a little late on the launch of these pencils, but the Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Eye Pencils are simply too exceptional not to discuss. I was first introduced to them at Generation Beauty and fell in love with their revolutionary formula, extensive colour selection, and remarkable ability to withstand whatever life throws your way.
The Aqua XL Eye Pencils ($25) are available in 20 shades, ranging from your standard black to pastel blue, green and purple. The shades feature various finishes including: matte, iridescent, metallic, satin, and diamond. They come as an upgrade to the previous formula, the Aqua Eyes, with an extra-long lasting formula, which features:
- XL Performance: A unique blend of ingredients – flexible resin for long-lasting results, vegetable wax for consistent color payoff, and a revolutionary dry oil that locks in the color and creates water resistance –guarantees waterproof, smudge-proof, transfer-proof and sweat-proof results.
- XL Color: Unique, translucent, crystal copolymer gels helps amplify color intensity and brightness.
- XL Comfort: Emollient oil and microspherical silica provides an easy, creamy and smooth application. Mango butter helps prevent skin dryness on application and throughout the day.
Having been tested by professional makeup artists these liners were created to withstand smudging, creasing, and fading, and are somehow able to remain water-proof even while swimming. That said, they have quickly become a favourite for days at the beach or simply to line my water liner and tight line. But there is on thing to note: the shades feature such a creamy formula that the tips will break off when too much pressure is used.
Some personal shade favourites include: D-12 Diamond Black, M-16 Matte White, I-36 Iridescent Khaki, S-50 Satiny Taupe, and M-80 Matte Plum.
