PHOTO DIARY / CITY DAZE PT. I
When it comes to days off I like to keep things hectic; appointments, meet-ups, shopping, dining, and more – if there's something I've dreamt of doing during the work week it's bound to go down on my day off. So when I was lucky enough to score back-to-back days off from work this week I made sure that not a single day would be wasted, heading to my true home, Toronto. Although I had previously been living in the Toronto, a few unanticipated events led to a move back home to Burlington, so now every chance I can spend in the city, I do.
It all began on Tuesday, which will make up pt. I of this photo diary, when I headed into city for a day of beauty, networking, and of course, blogging. After a quick stop at Fuzz Wax Bar on Queen for a clean-up, I was en-route to my 'home away from home', GoodDay Hair Shop, located in Kensington Market. For an entire year now I've trusted them, but more specifically Nikki, with my hair and this week was no different. After bleaching out my roots, we settled on a silvery lilac tone to better compliment my tan – I can't deny that I had dreams of returning to the previous steel blue tone, but I absolutely love the way the lilac turned out, and it definitely tones down any of the orange undertones in my tan.
From there, I was off to my favourite local coffee shop, Early Bird Espresso and Brew Bar, located on Queen West, for a meet-up with Loriana of The Blissful Brunette. We spent our time on the Early Bird roof-top talking about the oddities of blogging and life, sipping tea, coffee, and their incredible watermelon lemonade, and shooting a few photos. It's always nice to connect with others who experience a world similar to yours, and that's definitely true of Lor – we had a lot to discuss!
When it came to closing time, Lor and I explored the streets of Queen West, including one of my favourite locations to shoot at; a black a white wall riddled with graffiti of cars and humans. She then escorted me to my date for the evening, during which I got to experience 180 Secondi, a pizza joint at Yonge & St. Clair that was entirely new to me, and entirely delicious. I've been having extremely vivid dreams of their Bianca pizza ever since...
So needless to say, the start of my mid-week weekend was a great success, and *spoiler alert*, the second day was even better. Stay tuned for pt. II coming to the blog later this week.
