The blinc Box Discovery Collection has been heavily featured across the blogosphere over the past few weeks, and for good reason: it not only makes claims of extraordinary performance, it holds to them. The entire collection, which extends far beyond the four products shown here, feature formulas that remain smudge-proof, flake-proof, and water-proof throughout the day; outlasting even a work-out and/or cry-session – although, I have a lot more experience with the latter.

The blinc Box Discovery Collection ($36) features four deluxe-sized products, including:

• Mascara Amplified in Black(0.10oz)
• Eyebrow Mousse in Auburn (0.06oz)
• Eye Shadow Primer (0.06oz)
• Eyeliner Pencil (0.03oz)

The Mascara Amplified is without a doubt the star of the discovery collection, with nearly a decade in development. The result: a blacker than black mascara which is said to deliver substantial volume and length, while remaining smudge-proof, flake-proof, and water-proof. The secret behind it's 'life-proof' properties can be found in the formula; the mascara forms tiny water-resistant 'tubes' around the lashes that can only be removed once water and gentle pressure are applied. I've only started wearing mascara again within the past few weeks due to a stint with lash extensions, and therefore, given the damage to my natural lashes, can only speak on the Mascara Amplified's lasting power at the moment. It's rather typical of me to come home from work and have a shower in which I only wash my body, leaving my hair and makeup in tact. Despite doing this 'trick' for years with a multitude of mascaras, the Mascara Amplified is the ONLY one that doesn't require a touch-up before facing public once again – a rather remarkable feat. With that said, you'll notice in the photos below that the mascara was easily removed with pressure when swatched on my arm. This is likely linked to the surface to which the mascara is applied, because I can assure you it's not as easily removed from the lashes. I've personally found that the most effective removal occurs simply with warm water and the pressure of a wash cloth. If there was one product to own from the blinc Box Discovery Collection, it'd be the Mascara Amplified, available at Sephora. 

With that said the additional three products remain noteworthy. The Eyebrow Mousse does wonders at keeping my brows presentable and polished on days I don't have the time and/or motivation to put effort into my makeup regime. A simple brush of the Eyebrow Mousse through my brows – short upward strokes for the first half, long diagonal strokes for the tail – gives the illusion of thick, full brows in seconds. I've even incorporated the Eyebrow Mousse into my daily brow regime, using it to fill in the head of my brows as it delivers a softness the Anastasia Dip Brow cannot, ultimately creating a more natural appearance. The Eye Shadow Primer works wonders to amplify the colour and/or finish of whichever shadow you choose, and provides a tacky base for shadows to adhere to. However the lasting power is not nearly as significant as the other products found in this collection, smudging with even the slightest hint of pressure, let alone moisture. Although I assume that's the case with the majority of eyeshadow primers on the market, and it should be noted that using this primer under normal circumstance results in shadows lasting throughout with day without creasing and/or fading. Finally, the Eyeliner Pencil offers unsurpassed hold compared to many liners with similar claims. The pencil itself is creamy, gliding onto the lash line with ease and drying to a nearly life-proof finish. As you can see in the below photos the liner smudges ever so slightly with pressure, however I've yet to experience that when wearing it on the eye. Unfortunately I haven't yet tested the Eyeliner Pencil on my water line, as that tends to make my already small eyes disappear completely, but it's definitely one of the only liners I'd consider using on this sensitive area. 

THE RESULTS

I would definitely recommend testing the blinc Box Discovery Collection for yourself if you're on the search for a water-proof regime for summer. I know personally I wouldn't dare be caught at the beach and/or pool wearing anything other than the Mascara Amplified and Eyebrow Mousse, and will definitely be purchasing these two products once I've finished these deluxe-sized samples.
