Work x6

Work Work Work Work Work Work. I don't care if it's from 2016, the song Work by Rihanna and Drake still plays in my head each and every day as I walk into the 1Milk2Sugars office. I started with the Sugars as a Digitial Intern as part of my postgraduate program and continued to work for them afterward as a Content Specialist while completing my certificate. Having graduated a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be brought onto the team full-time as a Social Media Account Executive. But despite settling into my full-time role quite nicely, I'm still learning how to dress appropriately for the office while maintaining my signature edgy style. This week I tested the boundaries with a skirt-pant duo that might as well be pajama's they are THAT comfortable and a graphic tee featuring my favourite part of the city.

Here's the thing... if I'm going to be sitting in a chair for 9+ hours of the day, I better be in a comfortable pair of pants. But at the same time, I would never dare post up to the office in a pair of leggings or sweats. Instead, I opt for bottoms that have a bold design but a loose fit, and the MES2205 Pant by Melow par Mélissa Bolduc is one of my favourites. Not only is the brand Canadian, it's also body positive and features pieces that have been strategically designed and created to flatter any body type, from XS to XXL. I personally love the way the skirt-pant duo provides a casual yet sophisticated bottom that I can feel comfortable sitting in for hours on end thanks to its stretchy double-layered waistband. Not to mention the fact that I don't have to unbutton my pants when I eat too many office treats.

To keep the look understated and edgy, like me, I paired the pants with my Fun Times Tee that showcases my favourite area in Toronto, the Junction. I also love this tee because it reminds me and all my friends of a band we listened to growing up called The Junction. At this point I should probably look into getting the black colourway and sweatshirt version too! The Chinatown Sweatshirt is pretty dope too!

Considering I didn't get fired or sent home, I'd say that the look went over well (although I will admit I added a jacket and didn't keep the t-shirt in a knot while in the office). Maybe this office-wear thing ain't so bad after all.
